December 19th, 2005 RP online radio portal offers free video blogging service
ONLINE Filipino radio portal eradioportal.com is now offering free hosting of video blogs, INQ7.net has learned. The portal, which hosts a number of Philippine-based radio stations, quietly launched the service over the weekend. Wilson Chua, president of the Dagupan-based Internet service provider and eRadioportal host, said that the video blog hosting service is a "Christmas gift" to Filipinos who want to share videos online with relatives and the rest of the world. eRadioportal.com's video blogging service is being offered for a limited time however, says Chua. A Filipino contributor based in Al Khobar is one of the first video submissions to eradioportal.com. Video blogging is an offshoot of web logging or blogging, an online innovation that allows people to publish and manage their personal websites on the fly. To use the service, one has to submit a video in a specified format, specifically mpeg 4 and AVI formats and sizes. The Philippine radio portal will post submissions to the "Guest submissions" web link on its home page. "People can copy the HTML code of the link to their videos, and post them in their own blog," Chua added. In the United States, video blogging has also become a recent fad. Americans are now sharing their short video diaries and homemade reality shows through video blogs using the Internet. These video blogs features various topics. Video blogging has become a rage as technology has become more sophisticated. Mobile phones with video cameras like the N90 now allow people to take short films of everyday life. One of the popular video blogs is Rocketboom.com, a three-minute daily video blog from New York City. (INQ7) ------------------------ Yahoo!
