Markus's cautions and thoughtful questions are very reasonable and should be no-brainers to anyone who has been confronted with a financial appeal for a "good cause." That's precisely why I responded to the original post by heading to the Creative Commons web site and donating money. Based on Markus's smart evaluative question, I concluded that CC is well worth my measly contribution. I hope others conclude the same, but of course any who don't will no doubt contribute resources where they think is best.
