I believe this is exactly what I needed to know. I want to archive everything I produce in the best possible format first, then produce compressed versions for the Internet. The archives are the master edit, so that I can use the footage again in the future (to recompress for a future format if I ever need to, or whatever). I do the same with audio projects (save as WAV or AIFF first, then compress to MP3 or whatever for Internet distribution).
Thanks again,
Harold

Hi Harold, the best way is you export using full quality from the
export using quicktime menu, it will come out massive in size though.
This will give you a .dv version of your movie which you can drap and
drop directly onto an idvd project. I always archive this way, I have
a dv copy for dvd and a mp4 copy for the internet but i keep both
anyway.
hope this is a help
