I'm referring to "trade only" shows - e.g., where manufacturers are exhibiting and retailers are attending - ie., no public.

 

Having attended that type of show as a retailer, those shows are lame because it’s a room full of vendors trying to get you to sell their product. The only story is how many units did company X get orders for. Of course, everything depends on your focus. If you are covering a particular industry for trade press, those types of shows might be very interesting to your viewers.
