Cheers, they look good, by being higher resolution it was possible to see the show properly, actually see what people were demonstrating without either low resolution or a murky band of compression artifacts dimming the view.
The browser plugin works well ont he 3Ghz Intel Dualcore PC Im testing, fullscreen mode looks good. I was initially alamed by long buffering times, but I think my net connection or the divx server were struggling at the time. This is quite a good leap for DivX, progressive download of DivX stuff in browser was a major requirement for DivX to be a good videoblogging recommendation. I look forward to the Mac version. As for playing the CES blog HD version on a mac outside the browser, it worked good for me on a 2Ghz G5 iMac just so long as I used VLC or Mplayer rather than Quicktime. I cant quickly compare DivX's 720P videos with Apples H264 720P ones, because Apple decided to use a higher bitrate for theirs. So I'll have to do my own comparisons, maybe I get time this weekend. If I do get back to videoblogging it will be in High Definition as well as more standard resolutions, and I will probably offer it in several formats. If everything works out with the DivX licensing stuff, and the encoding speed is good (which Im guessing it will be), then it will probably be one of the formats I go for I guess.
