Oops I was too slow, Josua Kinberg already replied with a better explanation of the 'embed it to play in quicktime player' stuff I was waffling about.
Did I see Bill saying that he could never get .mp4's to fast-start? Strange, its always worked for me, and I waffled hard against this stuff, believing months ago that it was a myth that was holding back many people from switching to mp4. I dont know where I am going with the whole 'promote .mp4 crusade', as it only becomes worth it when more non-apple choices emerge. DivX has come along with an alternative (& nicely functioning) browser plugin that can play mpeg4, buts its mpeg4 in an .avi format file, which doesnt help this cause at all.
