I tried Revver yesterday - got all signed up, skimmed the TOS, etc. Then I tried to actually view a video and remembered why my previous experiment with Revver failed - viewing experience sucks. I got a fullscreen Flash video full of color distortion and no sound. If I recall correctly, I previously uploaded a video of my own and saw the exact same result. They are light on details as to what format they're looking for, so I couldn't fix whatever the problem was. There seemed to be a brief extraneous clip appended to the video I watched, but I couldn't tell what, if anything, it was advertising. I don't think this kind of service will bring anybody any advertising revenue.

I also looked at a service called Zoomandgo, which is looking specifically for travel videos and photos for travellers to download and view on their video iPods. They offer a revenue share on material they decide to use. For video it seems that they just want short pans of a place, such as you could do with a still camera or cellphone, so my beauteous travel masterpieces would be wasted on them (and I have a feeling would be rejected anyway since I brand them with my URL).

There's a partial listing of video hosting services I have tested at on my Squidoo lens at  http://www.squidoo.com/lensmaster/workshop/Videoblogging
