I didn't see the closing ceremonies but I was blown away by the opening ceremonies (partly because some of it reminded me of my favorite sci-fi film, Logan's Run). Although I was very impressed, I can help but be reminded of the sheer number of people out there in the world who don't have food, clean water or electricity. The cost of putting on a production like this is astronomical... amazement has a heavy price.
