I click on manage posts and then click on edit by the post and the post comes up in a rich text editor and I don't see any buttons that say flv.
When you say "with html editor off", I'm not sure if I need to change an option or that just means that I don't click on the html button to bring up the html code.
... I may be misunderstanding something basic about wordpress, of course ... thanks for your help, and working with me on this ... I appreciate it!

That would pretty much be what your post is. With the HTML editor off,
you should see a button there above your post window that says "FLV"
on it. Click that to enter the info for your flash video. It will ask
you a couple questions once you click it before embeding the code for you.
