------------ News Release For Immediate Release April 11, 2006 ?IT?S JERRYTIME!? RECEIVES 2006 EMMY NOMINATION BOSTON, MA April 11, 2006? It?s JerryTime!, (www.itsjerrytime.com), the quirky animated web micro-series produced by two brothers, Orrin and Jerry Zucker, is on the verge of forging television history. The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences today announced that the hit animated website It?s JerryTime! has captured one of six nominations for the first Emmy Award to be presented for original entertainment programming created specifically for non-traditional viewing platforms, including computers, mobile phones, iPods, PDAs and similar devices. The new Emmy Award will first be presented at the 33rd Annual Creative Arts Daytime Emmy Awards, hosted by Meredith Vieira, on Saturday, April 22 at New York City?s Marriott Marquis. It?s JerryTime!, featuring the wonky animated ?true tales from the life of Jerry?, debuted in November 2005 and become a cult hit, getting rave reviews from such international venues as Business Week, The Boston Globe, Boing Boing and the UK Guardian Ltd. In its short time online, ?the homemade cult hit vlog epitomizes what people's video is all about.? (IEEE Spectrum) The hilariously downbeat photo collage animation, produced by award-winning Graphic Designer Orrin Zucker, dramatizes the hard-luck tales of his brother Jerry, using only the most basic tools of a digital camera, Adobe After-Effects and clip art. Jerry writes, edits and performs the original stories and ragtime piano music. In the first episode, ?Who?s That Guy??, Jerry goes to a bar, and is accused of stealing popcorn by the manager. He inexplicably stays for lunch, endures hostile service, and then finally debates how much of a tip he should leave. In the current episode called ?The Karate Date?, Jerry?s painful date with a Karate instructor is highlighted, where Jerry learns the ?Rules of the Dojo??the hard way. The 2006 Emmy Awards will mark the first time the National Television Academy has recognized original programming first distributed on new media platforms. In a little more than two months time, from the call for entries to the deadline, 74 entries were submitted ? more than any other Emmy Award category. ---------- - Ted Universus Networks LLC works with select Media Producers, Brand Marketers and Agencies to deliver Next Generation Entertainment.
