based on the original message from nathan, i think that this is a different problem with a different cause (nathan never really did mention what the actual message was) the point is: i can stop any pop-up maker  (or force it to prompt each time)  that uses an <object> tag from working in IE if I disable the appropriate ActiveX options this has nothing to do with the new changes in IE this is an old problem  for anyone who has ever had to support activex in IE it's similar to setting _javascript_ to 'disabled' or 'prompt'.  the problem is not fixed by a script.  it's fixed by changing the users settings as stephanine mentioned Michael Verdi wrote: Markus I'm totally confused by your answers.
