You can use a few different maps, but the "geo finder" map is the
easiest to submit new vlogs and geovlogs...
http://community.vlogmap.org/maps/geofinder
Center the map over your location (default = NYC city hall) and zoom
in to get more precise. You can move the map with your mouse by
double-clicking where you would like to re-center, or by clicking and
dragging the map background. Clicking the center marker will cause
the map to zoom in one level.
Once the map is zoomed far enough (level 15+), the 'add marker at
center' links will appear. Click on which type of content entry you
would like...
vlogs = sites
geovlogs = posts (or direct video links)
The link takes you to the submission form, which will be pre-populated
with the lat/lon from the location you chose. Fill out the other
fields and that should do it.
Oh, and most of the maps have the `add marker links' so you don't have
to use the geo finder map. You can use the world map, regional map or
geovlogged videos map too.
Advanced bookmarklet method:
http://community.vlogmap.org/handbook/geovlogging/bookmarklet
After setting up this bookmarklet, you browse to the specific video
post on your site that you would like to add. Clicking the
bookmarklet will then send you from your site to the VlogMap
submission form (w/ the title and url pre-populated).
From here, you can click the "geo finder" link under the lat/lon
fields. That will take you to the map where you center/zoom to your
location. Clicking the 'add geovlog' option will then bring you back
the form with your title, url, latitude and longitude all set up.
Now wasn't that easy? HA!
Again, I'm very sorry about the documentation. I'm working on adding
text, screenshots and screencasts of how to use the site.
Thanks for your feedback!
