Is your iPod set up in iTunes preferences to sync to iTunes on that suspect computer? If it is, at least on my box, there's a setting whereby you allow a synch to erase anything on the iPod that isn't "checked" in iTunes or that you've deleted from iTunes.

What's so funny about this, is that I transferred the videos from iTunes on my computer, and, after transferring deleted them on the computer ... these are all videos  from blogs that I already had on my computer in iTunes ... something just seems really screwed up here ...

remember using something called "elphpod" (elfpod?), but a quick
