My feelings from what you have described it that you were at a public
event, therefore you had every right to record.

Now concerning the agent. He did not give his consent to be recorded
and told you as much. He does have the right as a human being to
express his desire not to be videotaped.

However, this is/was a bona fide news event. He had no authority to
tell anyone not to record. Vlogger or Network camera person he has no
say on when you hit the record button.

Hmmm. I'd say post the video and blank out the agent's face.

I would add that you follow the suggestions of others and check out
the EFF Blogger guidelines and Photographer's Rights brochure. Cuz
there will be more of this and many a law enforcement officer is going
to do his/her best to keep video documentation of their activities to
a minium.
