hi and thanks for the reply. I have a few questions and observations:

1. who are you? do you both work for hitwise?

2. why did you choose to send me a private message instead of discussing this openly in the group?

3. the document you reference is far from informative about your methods and practices.  please give more details about your operation.  you reference pricewaterhouse, who states:
... the internal control structure, within which the control procedures that we have audited operate, has not been audited and no opinion is expressed as to its effectiveness.
4. why no pricewaterhouse certification for over a year?  Again, from their site that you reference:
It should be noted that any projection of the evaluation of control procedures to future periods is subject to the risk that the procedures may become inadequate because of changes in conditions, or that the degree of compliance with them may deteriorate.
5. who commissioned this report?  (i.e., who paid for it?)

6. are you indeed located in the Cocos Islands (a group of islands in the Indian Ocean, southwest of Indonesia, about halfway from Australia to Sri Lanka) as you email address domain suggests?

7.  Do you have a vlog or blog?  I think you might find that a short video introducing yourself (and showing your island home!) would go a long way to establishing some credibility.

Thanks for commenting on the release we issued. The stats were really
interesting. However, I want to clarify that the report was not
commissioned by YouTube, my colleague LeeAnn put together the analysis
based on data that we independently collect. You can read more about
how we collect the data at

consider the source

it would be nice to know who commissioned this report?

my guess would be none other than "youtube"

these industry reports are things you pay to have produced

they are far from unbiased or scientific

note the "research store" menu item

These stats were a little suprising to me...

<quote>
Hitwise, the traffic intelligence firm, recently reported that as of
May 20, nearly 43 percent of all video searching was done through

YouTube.

MySpace Videos is second with 24.2 percent of the video search
traffic, Yahoo Video Search third with 9.58 percent and MSN Video
Search fourth at 9.21 percent. Google Video, in fifth place, has a
6.48 percent share.
