I use QT Pro, it has served me for the past two years, and has been the
best solution for me. QT7 Pro does seems less stable than QT6 when using
QT Pro to edit (trimming, adding tracks), but it seems *more* stable when
using it for straight exports. I cannot confirm that I get worse quality
doing AVI->MOV in QT Pro compared to other programs. Seems like a myth
since all programs are supposed to use the same QT library (and you get
full control in QT Pro).
