Is there any reason they wouldn't just transcode WMV or QT?

I know some of the other "watch Internet video on your TV" services use Windows Media.
TV Tonic and DaveTV for example.

I guess it depends on what kind of content they'll be offering.  If they're just inviting a select few net video producers, they can ask for whatever format they want.
