hey vlogger nerdz/geekz/dorkz... and anyone with a passing interest
in intellectual property and issues of copyright in the digital age... AND
you're crashing as many holiday parties as possible this week!
I, Ryan Junell, am writing you to invite you to a special birthday party
for Creative Commons over at Eyebeam in Manhattan THIS FRIDAY. I'll be
at a simulataneous one in San Francisco in the Mission.
I have to say I love the CC licenses... I've used them in my recent vlogging
work for Dabble. I also got over 75 filmmakers to use them in the Slomo
Video Film Festival I organized and published on a dvd earlier this year. I've
also posted 5000+ images to my flickr account using the liberal "attribution-
share alike" license.

(5 episodes! I'd love to know what you think!)

(I'm a big dork!)
I should admit I'm partial to the organization, I've made three
animations and a
font for the organization and designed the logo over the past four+ years.
watch "get creative", "reticulum rex" and the most
recent one "wanna work together" here:

if you watch the videos and click on the revver ad at the end,
creative commons gets some money for the 06 fundraising campaign...

There will be a bar provided by Eyebeam.

asking for a small donation at the door. Please contribute whatever
you can to show that you support CC's work.

SF
Dear CC Birthday Party Goers,
We're very excited that you've chosen to come and celebrate CC's 4th
Birthday with us this Friday. Because of the overwhelming response to
our invite we've decided to start the party at 8pm instead of 9pm. So
come and celebrate with us anytime between 8pm - 2am.
Larry Lessig, Joi Ito, and Jimmy Wales will be "talking" about CC and
some new initiatives via Second Life at 10pm. The CC celebration in
Second Life and other global celebratory parties will be streamed in
so we can see what's going on internationally and virtually.
Please bring your camera and/or video camera as we hoping our
party-goers will document the event and upload them with the tag
"ccbday" - so we can leave a digital trail.
I've included a map of the surrounding area below. Songbird is
located on the corner of Florida and 20th St - the entrance is
located at 2948 20th St.
Park where you can. Parking is easier at night than during the day
but there are no close lots nearby.
