I like Grisoft AVG - they do still have a free version http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1
You also want to pick up Ewido to catch spyware and other cooties. There is a 30 full featured trial and then a limited but still effective free version http://www.ewido.net/en/ or http://www.ewido.net/en/download/ I just found out that Ewido and Grisoft have merged. Can't keep up but still a good product. SpySweeper - dude, pay cash money for this one, it not only keeps the routers at bay but if you should happen to go to a site that tries to load malware in the back door it will not let it or you do it. Excellent program and not that expensive - http://www.webroot.com CCleaner (Crap Cleaner) an essential that is free and worth $$$. It removes temporary, internet junk and cookies off of your system. http://www.ccleaner.com/ I got more if you want them, Gena http://outonthestoop.blogspot.com http://pcclibtech.blogspot.com http://voxmedia.org/wiki/Video --- In [email protected], "Richard (Show) Hall" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Well, I'm getting ready to make the big leap and download/install parallels, > then it occurred to me that I probably should install some virus protection > for XP so I am wondering ... > > Any recommendations for virus protection for xp (is in any different when > running it with parellels) - ok that's two questions? > > Open source/free would be cool. > > For that matter, I'm wondering if you mac users use virus protection and, if > so, what? > > ..
