I like Grisoft AVG - they do still have a free version
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1

You also want to pick up Ewido to catch spyware and other cooties.
There is a 30 full featured trial and then a limited but still
effective free version http://www.ewido.net/en/ or
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

I just found out that Ewido and Grisoft have merged. Can't keep up but
still a good product.

SpySweeper - dude, pay cash money for this one, it not only keeps the
routers at bay but if you should happen to go to a site that tries to
load malware in the back door it will not let it or you do it.
Excellent program and not that expensive - http://www.webroot.com

CCleaner (Crap Cleaner) an essential that is free and worth $$$. It
removes temporary, internet junk and cookies off of your system.

I got more if you want them,

Gena
