One thing you could do would be to attach the postcard to a board and then point the webcam at the board and take a picture.
That way there won't be any shaking. While you're at it, put some light on the postcard. BTW, here's a way to shut off caps lock. On your mac, if you go to System Preferences under the APPLE menu, and then click on Keyboard and Mouse, click on Keyboard at the top, then click on the Modifier Keys button.
