I know a lot of people use Dreamhost, but for anyone thinking of signing up, I'd check out David Meade's recent experiences with them at www.davidmeade.com - poor support, so common to Hosting services, which is yet another reason to use Blip.

For under $10, Dreamhost offers over 1.8TB per month with weekly increases. That is way more bandwidth than most vloggers will need, and it can withstand a Digg day. The biggest advatage is in owning your domain and ensuring that your links are preserved in the location you expect. Basically, you are have more control. Of course, you can continue to upload your QT files to the networks (blip, youtube, etc) to get the added value of various formats and promotion. Oh, another option is LibSyn, which limits storage but offers unlimited bandwidth. The price is cheap and the downloads are slow... http://www.libsyn.com/signup.php Just throwing 2cents into the pot. -Matt http://vlogmap.org http://ridertech.com --- In [email protected], Lan Bui <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Tony, > > What kind of spikes are you anticipating? 100mb per day? 100gb per > day? 100gb per hour? 1,000,000 views per day? > > I would talk to "the big guys" of hosting to see if their shared > hosting will allow what you anticipate.
