Just a quick note to let you know that we listen to the community and
put some time into tweaking our UI to make it clear whenever we revlog
a video from elsewhere on the Ourmedia home page.

Markus Sandy of Outhink's development team dove in and added some new
functionality to our editing tool suite so that whenever we point
offsite to a cool video elsewhere, we have a short bit of text
explaining what this is or why we liked it, along with changes to our
standard wording. It now says "Revlogged From:" and says "Producer's
page" rather than "Member's page." (As before, we don't touch the
media or put it on our servers.)

We sent a note to United Vloggers last night telling them we featured
one of their clips, and they replied a short time later saying they
were already getting lots of inbound traffic and appreciated the
shoutout.

We'd like to do this more often in the coming weeks and months, so
that Ourmedia isn't just about media on the Internet Archive's servers
but also about highlighted socially meaningful or creative videos on
other sites as well. One idea is to give users the ability to create
channels or playlists of media regardless of where the media files
actually are hosted.

NewTeeVee may be posting something about all this in the coming days.

Thanks for the good feedback and input, everyone! And send me links to
any videos for which you'd like to get wider visibility.
