Ah, Mr of Elbows, no active vlogging required. You should know that by now! Your second-to-none theoretical knowledge and passion for online video are hotly desired. Also, it'd be cool to meet. You're not far from London, are you?
I saw earlier today that I'd just missed the London Youtube meet. Gutted. Will make the next one. I hope the two groups of meetups entwine. There's good reason for both to exist independently *and* cross-fertilise. Guess we'll have to work all that out as we go. I'm going to go and watch the YT meet vids. It'll be interesting to see how different people's reactions are to those in SF, LA and NY. I would assume that the Brits would find the whole social introduction thing more difficult than our more expansive cousins - I figured that was why there had been no meetup set up in London - but am interested to see if that's borne out, and if it can help prepare us for our group. Saw a video that made me sad of some girl who had gone there and was having a bad day and didnt end up really speaking with anyone, and went home when everyone else went to get pizza or go to the pub. I still dont know too much about youtube and the people who have met through it, but the few videos Ive seen so far were interesting and seemed to deal a bit with some initial awkwardness about breaking the ice and talking to all these people that are suddenly right there instead of just being on a screen. Anyway it makes me wonder if the groups shall ever entwine in London in future, Id like to come but only if Ive actually started vlogging by then. I shall go and join your discussion soon, cheers for doing this.
