Are you on PC or Mac? The following ideas are PC based. This is an option. There is free software that can convert PP into Flash .swf format. From there you can import into QuickTime Pro or other video editing programs that accept. the .swf format.
Open Office can convert Powerpoint into .swf but you do lose the animations.
