David,

I would go to Borders or Barnes and Noble and look for FCP/E training books.
There are a number of good ones out there and they generally come with a DVD
full of source materials, some are "Apple Certified" instruction books. Then
just plow through them!

If you upgrade Quicktime to Quicktime Pro ($30 and worth it) you can use it to
record .mov files right from your webcam.

best,

Subject: [videoblogging] two mac-ish questions

ok - I just bought a mac! And so I have a few questions for you mac gurus
out there:

   1. what's a good beginner's resource for learning Final Cut Express?
Though it's an "Express" version, there's a lot more there than the Windows
Movie maker that I'm used to!
   2. Can Final Cut Express capture stuff from my mac book pro's
videocam? And ... how? I can do it in iMovie, but couldn't figure it out in
   FCE.

Thanks!
