A friend wants to start videoblogging and her requirements are these:

1. a camera w/a very easy UI for a new videoblogger

2. not too costly

3. not totally fragile

She also owns a Mac.

At first I was thinking about a Canon SD camera, possibly the new
Canon PowerShot SD1000, or a little Canon PowerShot SD40, but just
saw that the new Sanyo Xacti supports H.264...

Have you seen this?

Here are some details I just found:

"Sanyo Xacti DMX-CG65 H.264 Video Camera

Sanyo_xacti_dmxcg65

The SANYO Xacti HD2 High-Definition digital video camera is at the
top of Sanyo's palm-fitting Xacti video camera product line, but for
those who don't require HD quality video, the new Sanyo Xacti DMX-
CG65 H.264 video camera might be a good choice. The new Xacti
supports H.264, MPEG-4 video, and the camera has 18MB of internal
memory, and up to ISO 1600 sensitivity. The 6-Megapixel camera with
5x optical zoom lens takes photos and VGA videos at 30fps. The Xacti
DMX-CG65 has the familiar 2.5-inch LCD and pistol style grip for one
handed use. A 8GB SDHC flash memory card can capture about 10 hours
of video."

I also heard about the Casio Exilim Hi-Zoom EX-V7 which also supports
H.264 MPEG4 video.

You'll be able to get a lot more video on a memory card with this
codec and you can edit directly in iMovie...

What do you think about these new cameras that have H.264 support?

Thanks,
