Oh, Gena, if you got the chance to do this it would be beyond helpful. I don't have any trouble flying to, staying in and traveling around a city I've never been before all by my lonesome, but LA is the ONE US city where it'll be made more complicated by the fact that I do not know how to drive (yeah, yeah. I've heard it all before. Lessons begin in June.) If it weren't for taxis I'd never get anyplace. If I pick the wrong hotel I could end up $50 from anywhere I want to be.
I would be willing to go in for a rental with someone who doesn't mind driving me with them everyplace. I call shotgun.
