A video we posted about a guy who hassled us at a wedding in February
was found by the guy in a random google search. Turns out he's a Boston
DJ at WBCN, featured the vlog on his show and encouraged his listeners
to leave comments ( we were unmoderated at the time)on our site. We got
about 180 messages of hate: against women, gay people, it was pretty
awful. I deleted most of them, keeping the more intelligent ones up,
even if they didn't agree with us. But the damage was done. We're now
moderating, which was kind of a sad moment in my video blogging
experience. That I now have to do that. Not only is the internet a
window, it's also a mirror to the offline world, not always in a good
way.
