I'm in LA, in Pasadena (near AFI). That Wiki http://pixelodeon.pbwiki.com/Hotels%20and%20Transportation pretty much covers it. You might want to consider hotels in nearby Glendale. Recommendation: fly into Burbank airport (rather than LAX) AFI (American Film Inst) is on the border of Hollywood & Los Feliz, it's way closer/easier to get to from Burbank airport (than LAX): http://www.afi.com/about/directions.aspx From Burbank airport, just go down 5 fwy several miles, exit Los Feliz west..continue on when it just turns into Western. You're there. [ BTW, that recent big fire in Griffith Park/LA was just off Los Feliz Blvd ] I used to goto AFI in 1993, they brought in a lot of hi profile people & companies for talks. Like Marc Canter/Macromedia, RIck Smolan/National Geographic (1st book to have a companion CD), Bob Stein/Voyager, Kai Krause/HSC Software (later Metacreations), Mark Granger/Electric Image, et al. Multimedia (CD's were hot then!) & Computer Animation. Jurassic Park (CGI animation) just came out. Lots of entrepeneurs & Hollywood people would be there, to network. I still remember them talking about Quicktime back then, there was some competition for best QT movie. On a teeny-weeny screen. Now 14 years later, we have high-bandwidth Internet which can support video- blogging, iTunes video-podcasting, Youtube, et al > > Jay > > -- > Here I am.... > http://jaydedman.com > > Check out the latest project: > http://pixelodeonfest.com/ > Webvideo festival this June!!!! > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
