I'm looking for testers for an OpenSource Vlogging Software that I've developed.
(Please reply to me off-list if you are interested.)
WHAT IS IT?
It is opensource Vlogging software, released under the GNU GPL.
Eventually everyone can have at the software and do whatever they want with it.
But, for now, I'm looking for a small group of people to do some
"pre-alpha" testing.
WHY IS IT NEEDED?
This is vlogging software for the group up. And not blogging software
made to do vlogging.
WHAT IS IT CALLED?
I've code named it GnuTube for now. (Until I come up with a better
name ) (Yes, it is a play on the name "NewTube".)
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE A TESTER?
You need your own server. The server needs to have PHP 5 and (at
least) MySQL 4 on it.
(NOTE... you do NOT need to be a techie to be a tester. Actually...
I'm hoping some non-techies step up to do some testing of this. That
way I get a broad range of feedback.)
WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO DO?
You need to try to install it. Configure it. Customize it. And (if
possible) use it... i.e., do some vlogging with it.
WHAT WILL TESTING BE LIKE?
Well... you'll need to have an instant messaging windows open or let
me call you up while you are doing you testing. (If you live near
Vancouver, and you don't mind, we can do this Usability testing on a
face-to-face basis.)
(I'll pay for the call if it is long distance of course.)
The reason for this is so you can tell me everything that sucks about
it. (That way I can fix all those things before releasing it.)
Testing will not happen tomorrow of course... since both of us need to
be there, so scheduling will have to be worked out with all the
testers so that the time works for each of us.
