Personally, I love the Xacti. Much better quality video. But that's not the
point. This is a camera that is:

- cheap
- easy enough to give to your grandmother who is technophobic. no manual to
read or confusing settings
- includes software on the device so you can run it on any computer (no
installation!... think internet cafe)
- AA batteries -- much better for field use
