Hi, I bought a Canon Optura S1 last year and other than this one thing, I think it's great for my uses. I like the "auto-backup" aspect of tape (at least for a year or more before the actual tape begins degrading) and also the non compressed video. This camera actually does decent stills for the web, but the video recorded to memory isn't very good. Low lighting performance for stills is as poor as it is for video.
What recommendations do you have for a similar-sized tape based DV camcorders that perform well indoors? There are many photo gear sites that compare cameras, what are your suggestions for sites where you can see the same scene recorded with DV? randy
