It is generally a safe bet to assume that a plastic cased laptop (i.e. the MacBook) will have better WiFi reception than one clad in metal (i.e. the MacBook Pro). Luckily, Apple has come a long way from the days of the Titanium PowerBooks, and the MacBook Pros get good WiFi reception, but the MacBooks are slightly better (I have one of both, so this is anecdotal).
