ha. i dont do much ranting here these days.... yeah i used to run my own rssfwd server on vlogdir.com. i worked with the developer to include rss enclosure support (linking to file in the body of message). on my version, the link to the video enclosure also included a link to open a vlogdir player page, which i was going to make nicer with useful metadata and sharing features etc.
anyway, busy with new things. but the core concept of leveraging EMAIL for RSS to me is still very logical, especially if you are a more passive media consumer.... where you might watch/listen to media sporadically throughout the day, as opposed to having long sessions in Democracy or whatever else... a marathon of media consumption. I never have time for that. If I want media for remixing into other projects, then I might make use of desktop aggregators. Depends.
