Absolutely. That's the next level of the question. The first level
is how much money would you want/need. The next level is "who's going
to give that to you, and why?". It may very well be the case that
videoblogging, in its current state, doesn't command enough $$$ for
people to make that their full-time and only job. As Rupert said, he
doesn't WANT his videoblogging to become a job, so he's out of it
altogether. Then you have people that do videoblogs with no specific
or consistent topic or that for some other reason aren't marketable to
advertisers. Then, you have those few fortunate people whose hobbies
are marketable and get paid to do videoblogs about what they would be
doing anyway.

That leaves the situation in the hands of the buyers/funders, like you
say. Someone might be willing to pay you to do a videoblog about
Caterpillar Tractors. :D The question is.... do you REALLY want to DO
that? :D

I was noticing something like this about all those "first to buy an
iPod videos". There was really NOTHING going on in them, but people
were interested in the hubbub and the "show" of the line-waiters
bursting into the Apple Stores to get their long-awaited iPhones.
There WAS no show... but the show became the collection of instances
of people buying iPhones......
