That is what I believe is the future of a respectable portion of the
web and user generated content. A few barriers to launch a site like
that. Each day a new site gets a little closer.

It would be selling out if you just do a commercial for the money.
Integrity and trust I believe will be the audience draw as well as
what it is you are hawking (and have to say in the
content/entertainment aspect).

wha wha wha!

When I first joined this group (but after I had lurked a little) I
brought a site in that was one of the first (I had found) that offered
any kind of partnering for profit. It met a few of my needs, but was
pretty hard to navigate through the legalese. Word o Mouth was the big
attraction. This company was targeting a predominantly black/hip hop
audience, and the site originated out of Canada. I was impressed with
several things about the site, and though there was a cost to post
videos and audio, it did not take all rights away from the content
producer/owner. Unfortunately I was unaware that the link I provided
had a id# and was banned for bringing in spam. 6 months to a year
later I came back, asked to be let back in. Was ignored, and so signed
up using this screen name. In that time span people in the group were
talking about making the chedda. And it has become the topic of
discussion more and more.

I need a lawyer, and guidance with a business plan.

Early on I was talking about my idea with any free ear. I stopped
doing that because I did not want to share too much and then watch
"Pigs at the Trough" eat me up.

In my idea of how this would work I have run into a lot of opposition.
Mainly with the lack of money to launch but also that it bucks the
"known" way of doing things. In order to feel like I am at least on
track I registered the domains that would make up the service I
envision. Used (TM) to protect "Poor Man Style" the names.

Pitched almost every friend and quite a few strangers.

Sent cryptic emails, with tidbits of info. Oh to have a my own legally
solid Non Disclosure Agreement.

Wasted 3 months with a start up that was unable to (although they had
every element in place I needed) answer the simplest questions (how
many mirror sites is one question).

I approached many businesses and local association that represent the
markets I want to work in.

Tried to modify my plan as I chased a investor to cover preliminary
costs. Thinking I needed to match his world. Never do that again.

Disagreed with one of my oldest friends, he (at the time) would rather
have built a wifi network modeled on one in WA, and was not interested
in content.

Endured a extremely painful computer problem (lost data/time) that was
finally diagnosed as a bad logic board.

Now that I have either ranted or whined my two cents worth. What where
we talking about?

Oh yeah, money and ads.

I got a really good idea, trust me, I do.
