In the past when there was no response to a reply sent to the poster
of a message, just chalked it up to they were too busy, a
misunderstanding of my intent or worse I was ignored (yup, I wanna be
loved).

I got a email from a freecycle Yahoo group moderator and learned that
replying to the poster ends up in the spam mail.

That explains away my paranoia. If anyone has ever sent something to
me this way, I apologize for not getting back to you.

I switched my settings and checked to see where the email replies I
did get came from (yahoo.com or a third party mail app like gmail or
.mac) and sure enough, third party mail gets through, yahoo is
directed to spam folder.

This is what I received:

"If you use Yahoo email and you have your bulk
folder set to automatically delete messages that go there please
change it! It appears that Yahoo is frequently treating mail from
your fellow Freecycle members as spam. Case in point, we recently
had an member who uses Yahoo email write to us to say that last
weekend she was only able to communicate back and forth with members
who did not also have Yahoo accounts. Many members who used Yahoo
email asked for her items but when she said they could have the item
and asked them to send a reply, she never heard from them again.
This is too coincidental for them all to be no-shows because she says
that people are usually very good about responding back.

So please, check your bulk folder settings so that you don't
accidentally delete something legitimate."

Wow, it always something ... Hard to know how many people on this list
occasional reply directly to another's post using the drop down menu.
In the last thirty days I may have done it (about average) 10 times.
Looking at my emails, I have only three replies.

Hope this helps, clears up any misunderstandings and eliminates the
potential of mail hitting the Spam.

Forever pissing in the wind, not against.
