Online video players could become new vehicle for malicious code October 02, 2007 08:13 EDT <http://www.kgan.com/template/inews_wire/wires.national/2ab946c6-www.kgan.com.shtml> ATLANTA (AP) -- While computer users are getting smarter about spotting suspicious e-mails, hackers are looking for sneakier ways to spread malicious codes. .....A report by Georgia Tech says that online video players could be come the next target for hackers. Experts say hackers have moved from sending spam to embedding unwanted codes in images or disguising them as documents. And they think the next logical step is to target media players, like the ones used to watch YouTube videos. They're also worried about the security of blogs, wikis and social networking sites.
