Hi folks - Anyone in this group from the NYC area interested in freelance work with video and the web?
In my non-vlogging life, I work for a nonprofit organization that uses web video to communicate with and educate our members. Basically, we do the equivalent of a corporate videoblog with multiple channels. I'm looking for freelancers with experience in the following areas to call as needed (you don't have to know how to do ALL of these things, but as many as possible would be a plus): 1. Studio production (camera, lighting, switching, graphics) 2. Field production and multimedia event production (requires planning, supervisory, and logistical skills in addition to tech skills) 3. Avid editing (sorry, we don't run FCP) 4. Flash, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightworks or similar programs An understanding of video on the web, file formats, compression, encoding, uploading, embedding players etc, is a must. Ability to work in a professional, corporate environment and meet deadlines is equally important. Knowledge of XHTML, CSS and common tools like Dreamweaver is a big plus. We have our own TV studio with most of the toys, and 2 Avids. The office is about 10-15 minutes drive north of the GW Bridge on the Jersey side. We have another office in London and there may be some travel associated with some assignments. If you're interested, please email me and attach a resume and links to where I can see your work - please don't reply here. I will contact you to follow up. Thanks.
