In regards to your unexpected benefit of posting to blip. How do you know that
blip can take credit for the go ogle alerts? What did blip do precisely to
help you and your organization get the go ogle alerts?
Have you considered that maybe your tags, subject matter, or an RSS feed may
have created the google alerts for you and not blip???

For my day job I handle new media for a law school and one of my tasks has been

minute excerpts from the law school's vast library of television shows (that
cover topics from
health to politics to law to history) and post them on the web. I had been
posting solely to
youtube and clip syndicate and we do pretty well there, but last week I
uploaded our whole
library to blip... and what did I discover? Our posts are being picked up by
google alerts!
As the point of our new media program is to establish the law school as a
leader in multi-
media education for the public on an international level this is very, very
welcome news (and
made me look pretty smart too!). In retrospect I can't help wondering why
google alerts
would not mine their own company, youtube, for content, but in any case, thanks
again to
blip for being such a fantastic platform for content creators.
