Hi Dina,
I have been using a Sennheiser MKE-300 shotgun mic
with very good results for a surprisingly wide range
of applications. I have found that it actually gives
me better sound isolation in all but the most extreme
of situations than the low to mid-range wireless lavs
that I have rented from various rental houses. I know
that you are looking to go wireless, and for some
applications like long-range interviews, walking tours
or for movement instruction (like yoga) they are best.
I just thought I'd share with the list my pleasant
surprise at the quality of sound on this little mic.
I spent a long time researching it and I thought that
if any of you are looking for a general purpose
external mic this might be one to take a look at.
It's nice and small for compact camcorders (I use it
on my HV-20) and pretty cheap for a Sennheiser ($130
on B&H).
