I have the HV20 with one of those shock mounts and this Azden mic: http://urltea.com/2mj1 It's a nice little set up for under $100. The mic picks up only what you point it at. I've found it's necessary to use the external mic at all times. I've only shot a few things without it, and you can hear the camera mechanism pretty obviously, like in the first 5 seconds of this video: http://www.vimeo.com/435808 Other than this minor flaw, the HV20 is the best little camera I've ever had.
