Hi! I have met a fair few of you over the last two years or so (most
at Pixelodeon and other event) but I only recently got to chat with
Irina for a good length of time…who introduced me to Jay…who said I
should join… so here I am!

My name is Paul Armstrong and I work for MySpace, specifically
MySpaceTV. I'm in the media department but I don't really fit into
the traditional PR mold since I get to work on new initiatives as well
as news.

There are big changes happening at MySpace on all levels, as you've
hopefully seen (if I'm doing my job right!) with more to come. To say
we've grown would be an understatement but as we've grown we've
learned a lot and asked a lot and you are starting to see some of
these changes come into effect.

So why am I here? About two years ago I got hooked on real people,
talking about real thing in real ways and ever since I have been
fascinated by the power of online video. When I worked for Activision
and Sony I had a chance to start working with people like Steve and
Zadi as well as Amanda/Mario and it's been a passion of mine ever
since. When I joined MySpace about a year ago, MySpaceTV was just
starting and it was about building a solid foundation, now we have
that we/I feel now is the right time to expand further and try new
things now we have the partnerships set up (and the headcount to
actually do stuff)! I won't say we are changing direction (we are a
community first and a video site second) but the foundations are set
and it's time to build a bridge to get to you all! Recently I started
interacting with Nick Schmidt (aka Mr. No Warning on scar photos at
9am in the morning) who moderates the MySpace vlog community
(http://groups.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=groups.groupProfile&groupID=101292866&MyToken=a6e58c92-c988-42fa-be88-81b6a2f1f7a7)
- please join if you are on MySpace.

I interviewed Chris Brogan a week ago and posted it today who once
gave some good/free advice "don't poorly dive in and start blabbing
instead of listening first, don't be 'that guy'". To this end, I'm
looking to find out how we can help you do whatever it is you want to
do better. How can MySpace/TV help you? Is it offline events? A
dedicated advertiser community that want real ads by real people made?
More info on the content we are looking for? Tips to navigate the
network better? A vlogger profile type? I am ALL ears and want to
make sure you feel you have/still have/will always have a place on
MySpace and MySpaceTV. I'm based in LA and ALWAYS willing to do
drinks or have people into HQ (if you find grey cubes just as awesome
as we do!) so let me know if you are around and want to meet up!

So I guess that's me in a nutshell. Friend me up
http://www.myspace.com/britpabz â€" IM me on AIM: pabzrocks or GMAIL:
paulstephenarmstrong) and add me to twitter (munkyfonkey) if you are
that way inclined!

I look forward to hearing from you all and working with you to create
a place on MySpace that helps you do what you want to do better,
faster, smarter etc.

Paul (or Pabz kinda prefer Pabz).

PS: If anyone is politically minded or just fancies a go yesterday we
launched a citizen journalism partnership with NBC/MSNBC (through
MySpace Impact) â€" I have put it on my blog here
(http://tinyurl.com/6byovj) - check it please take a second to check
it out as I think it's a great partnership.
