Hello - I'm wondering what librarians are doing when videos in their catalog are also available (legally) for free online, either as a download or in a streaming format. Do you usually add a link from the catalog record to the website?
Also, has anyone been adding new catalog records for video resources online (that aren't already in your collection)? Very curious about this - I'm not a librarian myself but am working on a project to digitize some older videotapes in our collection, and we'll be adding URLs to streaming versions of these videos to our catalog. thanks, -- Emily E. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
