I am always looking for replacements for nursing videos produced in the 1980s and 1990s, primarily from producers like Springhouse (now part of Lippincott, Williams and Wilkins), Mosby (now part of Elsevier and I can't find ANY videos in their nursing stuff), just for example. If there are any media librarians out there who have had success at locating good sources for nursing videos, please contact me offline.
We already purchase nursing videos from Concept Media (now a Gale subsidiary), Insight Media (ditto), LWW, Medcom Trainex, Delmar Cengage (Gale), Films for the Humanities, and Alexander Street Press, among a host of small independents. But at least once a month, I get stumped trying to find up-to-date replacements for older stuff. I would LOVE some good ideas for new places to look or ways to approach this issue. Thanks for any ideas...jen Jennifer Foster Media Librarian The Victoria College/University of Houston-Victoria Library 361.570.4195 [email protected] http://vcuhvlibrary.uhv.edu
VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
