Creative Arts Television DVDs state clearly at the start that they may be used in classrooms. We have always assumed that a need for wider use would generate a query to us about additional costs. And with hundreds of arts titles we do get these requests. When they come in we are very liberal and reasonable.
So it is irksome to think that there is support for a unilateral decision on the part of a video librarian (or more likely her boss somewhere back in an administrative office) that because times are tougher it is OK to ignore established principles of fairness.
