Hi all, This is a response to the person who asked if anyone had screened Spike Lee's Documentary on Katrina.
I've watched it at least 4 times and it's an incredible documentary. It's a very powerful and moving film series. As always, Spike Lee uses music masterfully to set a mood and to weave the story together. He tells the story from many perspectives of the tragedy. I felt connected to every person as they told their stories. The film engages me completely every time I watch it; a quality that defines a classic in my book. I recognized one of the victims interviewed in Spike Lee's documentary now playing a role on HBO's "Treme" ... a fictional series based on present day Treme ~ a neighborhood in New Orleans. It's a new series ... full of great contemporary New Orleans musicians. I'm presuming HBO sells the documentary. I may buy it myself. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
