Not sure what "kids lit " is exactly. Does that mean HEIDI & ANNE OF GREEN GABLES or more serious stuff. Could TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD be "kids it" ? If so top of my list. Also THE YEARLING. One very off beat choice. CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY , the Gene Wilder version of course.
