Thank you to all who responded to my questions about film translations of children's literature.
The suggestions of specific titles were interesting, tho the instructor is well set in that regard. Special thanks to Meghann Matwichuk for the link to the Wikipedia page of film adaptations of children's lit. I particularly liked the comments about the infusion of feminism into the most recent version of "Little Women" (thank you Maureen Tripp ) , Becky Tatar reference to stylistic changes, and Gary's comment about remakes attempting to be more "relevant. I welcome your additional substantive observations along these lines. The instructor is hoping that students in the class will address more contemporary children's titles (Jumanji, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, etc.) and is particularly hoping that students will select some of the films distributed by Walden Films. http://www.walden.com/movies/ Thanx again.
