We will occasionally order a second copy if there is demand, usually
interdisciplinary, for it. One example is the Merchants of Cool which
appealed to many faculty at the same time. If it has circulated several
times and is requested to be held, we will buy another copy (unless, of
course, it is one of those multi-hundred $$ corporate training titles.
Then they just have to learn to share!

Subject: [Videolib] Duplicate copies?

I am trying to develop an unofficial policy for when duplication of
materials is a good idea. (We do not, in general, order duplicate copies
of any materials) Do you order duplicate copies of films? Under what
circumstances?

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
